Legends & Lies: The Real West
Production has wrapped.
Post-production continues.
Nothing will stop the Sunday, April 12th premiere of Legends & Lies on The Fox News Channel.
Whether "Into the West" or "The Real West" is the subtitle still remains unclear.
Who pays attention to subtitles though? Seriously.
Do you remember the James Cameron blockbuster Titanic had the subtitle "Love On The Rocks?" Steel Magnolias had the subtitle "The Reckoning?" Of course you don't!
Regardless if we're heading into the west or the real west, this mini-series was an epic undertaking which took 62 days to shoot in 4 different states. Produced by Warm Spring Productions and shot by LionHeart FilmWorks the filming of Legends & Lies was an epic undertaking.
The dates and titles of the ten episodes are as follows:
April 12 Jesse James / Doc Holliday
April 19 Wild Bill Hickok
April 26 Kit Carson
May 3 David Crockett
May 10 Black Bart
May 17 Billy the Kid
There will be a break on Memorial Day weekend.
*The previous episodes will air as a marathon.
May 31 George Custer
June 7 Bass Reeves
June 14 Butch Cassidy
L&L will air on the FOX News Channel. You'll have to check your local listings for exactly where that is in your area.
This is a show with adult content which consists mostly of graphic gunfights and related cowboy violence. You probably guessed that from the list of Western figures listed above. I mean, you didn't see Percy Oliver: Western Podiatrist or Ezra Weinstein: Tombstone CPA on that list...did you?
No siree, Bob! This is a show about cowboys and guns and bullets! Billy the Kid wasn't known for his gardening after all. At least I don't think he was. Hmmm. Maybe that will be revealed during his episode.
Now you're going to have to watch!

Every little boy wants to be a cowboy at one time or another. Only a few get to live the dream for real. Even fewer get to don the Stetson and six guns and climb onto the back of a horse for a short time and be the cowboy they always dreamed of being and have it recorded for all time.
I was fortunate to be cast in not one but two episodes of this docu-series.
I will be appearing in the "Wild Bill" Hickok episode as David McCandles.
Episode 3 of Legends & Lies
James "Wild Bill" Hickok: Plains Justice
Premieres Sunday, April 19, 2015
I will next appear as Frederick Benteen in the George Custer episode.
Episode 8 of Legends & Lies
George Custer: A General's Reckoning
Premieres Sunday, May 31, 2015
I'm grateful to LionHeart FilmWorks for this great opportunity and, as always, it was my profound pleasure and honor to work with this talented team.
As an actor you hope for jobs like this L&L. Great costumes! Six shooters! Big, cowboy mustaches! Horses! I mean, seriously, not a bad way to spend a day.
I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. I'm curious about what footage will survive the final edit. I can't say much, mostly because the show hasn't aired yet, but my knife fight with an army of zombie cowboys is pretty damn amazing. I hope it stays in. You never know though. Ever. (heavy sigh)
