I'm always thinking. Sometimes I write. So think of this blog as my mental sketchbook. You never know what I'll post. Sometimes it might be a written post. Sometimes it might be just a photo or drawing.
"My happiest moment is the day they call wrap and I'm free. I'm not looking back." Actor Brad Pitt Yesterday at about 7 P.M., I wrapped on a project I've been shooting for The Fox Channel. LEGENDS & LIES: Into The West will begin airing on Sunday, April 12. The mini-series was shot by LionHeart FilmWorks, a Richmond-based production company specializing in historic pieces. What's that? What's wrapped ? Wrapped is a term which usually signifies the end of filming on a project. The director, satisfied they have shot everything they needed to shoot, will shout "That's a wrap!" There is an urban legend, which has been disputed (like most urban legends) that wrap is an acronym for " Wind , Reel and Print ." I don't have the answer to that mystery. It makes perfect sense. Doesn't make it fact however. I agree with Mr. Pitt about the freedom you experience when you are wrapped on a project. ...
January 19, 2014 The next few weeks are going to be an emotional roller coaster ride for me. There's a lot going on and I'm excited and scared and a little nauseous. I will continue turning this week. A huge thank you to Arvold Casting (http://arvoldcasting.com/) for the opportunity to work on this most amazing television series. Every day is a learning experience. Seeing how different directors work is an invaluable practical opportunity. It's the best classroom for someone in my position. I'm watching every aspect of the production, keeping my ears open and taking it all in. Every day is a reminder that I am doing what I am supposed to be doing. My heart races every time I step onto set. This coming weekend, January 24th and 25th will bring to an end a three and half year run with the Richmond-based improvisational comedy group West End Comedy.
