It Ain't Easy

This doesn't exist.

Stop looking for it. Stop google searching for the instruction manual. Stop being lazy and do the work to get the work. There is nothing about this business that's easy. It's hard.

The first thing you have to do is figure out what you want to do.
The second thing you have to do is figure out how to accomplish Number One.
The third thing to do is put your head down, roll up your fucking sleeves and do the work.

Shut up. Listen. And learn.
It really is that simple.

And say thank you every now and then.
Whether or not you get the job, say thank you for the opportunity.

Stop crying about the situation you put yourself in. Right now.
You want it?  Go for it. Work for it.

If you have talent, you're ahead of the curve.
If you have integrity, manners and fortitude, you are a few rungs higher on the ladder than some other folks.

No one owes you anything. Not your agent...not the casting director...not anyone.

There are egos to deal with and not just yours. There is nepotism. There is timing and luck ( good or bad) or whatever you want to call it.

The only thing you really have is what you bring to that 'T' mark in front of the camera and how you conduct yourself when you're not in front of it.

You can't control many things (most) things in this business, but you can control some:

~ You can control how you approach this business (and it is a business)
~ You can control how you present yourself

Everything else...is...grab a hold of something...not in your control.

Have a plan. Work that plan.
And then prepared for The Universe to say, "Well, that's just adorable. NEXT!"

Just keeping it reel.
